Test boosters have been and still are all the rage.

Some swear by them, believing them to help push through and reach new PRs or improve their performance in bed, while some detest them as marketing scams.

We’re not here to debate on the efficiency or validity of test boosters as a whole, we’re here to review one in particular - Nugenix Testosterone Booster

Nugenix is a long-standing name in the world of test booster supplements so it doesn’t come as a shock that it's among the most talked about and best testosterone supplement.

What is Nugenix Testosterone Booster?

First things first, we need to ask the question of what Nugenix Testosterone Booster is.

The most obvious answer is that it’s a test booster, but it boasts as a “...free testosterone booster that contains clinically researched ingredients that helps to boost free testosterone levels when combined with a resistance training program.”

Now, plenty of test booster supplements make this claim because they want you to think you’re buying a miracle cure to low T or improving performance, but does Nugenix Testosterone Booster actually live up to its name?

What’s In Nugenix Testosterone Booster

This is the most important question you can ask of your supplements, what’s in it?

The reason why is that you want to make sure you’re not putting anything harmful in your body and you want to know if it actually works.

When you know what’s in it, you get a better understanding of how it may or may not work.

In this case, Nugenix Testosterone Booster contains:

  • Vitamin B-6 (as Pyridoxine Hydrochloride)
  • Vitamin B-12 (as Methylcobalamin)
  • Zinc (as Zinc Chelate)
  • Nugenix® Free Testosterone Complex

Vitamins B-6 and B-12, along with Zinc, are commonly found nutrients in plenty of foods and supplements, but my biggest knock on Nugenix Testosterone Booster is that fact that their Free Testosterone Complex ingredient isn’t described in detail.

What I have gathered from some of their other products in their test booster line is that they often include ingredients like:

  • L-Citrulline Malate
  • Fenugreek Seed Extract
  • Tribulus

Which are found in other similar test booster supplements. I do wish they had a more comprehensive breakdown of what this free testosterone complex is.

Who Should Take Nugenix Testosterone Booster

This is a good question and isn’t as straightforward as you might think. Many people believe that only men with low T can take a test booster, but that’s wrong.

While it helps people with low T levels, it’s not exclusively for them, in fact, it’s not exclusively for men either.

Men and women, regardless of natural testosterone production can see benefits from taking a test booster supplement like Nugenix Testosterone Booster. It’s a useful way to help boost hormone levels which results in:

  • better stamina and energy levels
  • muscle building
  • increased libido/sexual performance
  • helps aid in weight loss

Even though test boosters work best for people with naturally low T levels, you can still take it to see the benefits listed above.

As for taking Nugenix Testosterone Booster, the packaging recommends 3 capsules daily in the morning without food. This is simple to do as you can add it to your morning routine before you start the day.

What to Know Before Taking a Test Booster

I’ve already mentioned how you should always check the ingredient list of any supplement, especially test boosters, but there are other things to consider before you decide if Nugenix Testosterone Booster is right for you.

The first thing you should do is talk to your doctor. There is no guarantee that a test booster will work for you, but there is a chance that it can cause some adverse effects.

Even though they are safe for most people, you don’t want to take any chances with your health which is why I’d always recommend a visit to your physician to get a professional medical opinion and even a blood test to determine your test levels.

It never hurts to consult with your doctor to see what they think and whether or not they have any advice to give you.

My Experience With Nugenix Testosterone Booster

I’ve experimented with my fair share of supplements for the sake of my own health, performance, curiosity, and for the site to share with you all.

The first thing I noticed with Nugenix Testosterone Booster wasn’t out of the ordinary when it comes to a test booster and that’s that it took a few weeks before I started to feel the effects.

In roughly 3 weeks I started to notice more energy in daily activities. I’d feel less sluggish during the work day, I’d be more active, I’d feel more rested in the morning and I could power through my workouts with ease.

Another noticeable change was in my mood as well. Nugenix Testosterone Booster didn’t just give me more energy, but it felt like useful energy where I felt better as well.

This also translated to my sex life where I noticed a much better increase in libido.

I’ll spare the naughty bits because this isn’t that kind of site, but you can probably guess that my girlfriend was very pleased when it started to become more effective.

What everyone really wants to know is how does it improve workout performance? The answer - fairly well!

This was the biggest tale of the tape so to speak for whether Nugenix Testosterone Booster actually stacks up to the competition and I’d say it did a decent job.

I felt more stamina so my warmups and workouts, both cardio and lifting, felt easier to get through and I definitely noticed more residual energy even after a grueling 2hr lift session.

I can’t definitely say whether I put on more muscle or not in the relatively short time I was taking it, but I felt as if my body was stronger with extra test production.

Even me being in my 20s and in good shape, Nugenix Testosterone Booster was providing me with ample results after a month and a half of taking it daily.

It’s not going to magically turn you into an Adonis, but if you feel like your test levels are lower than normal or need some extra push, it’s not a bad choice for your supplement stack.

Final Thoughts

When all is said and done, a test booster isn’t some get ripped quick solution, but it does have its value. That is why Nugenix Testosterone Booster is one I wanted to review for all of you so I could let you know my honest opinion.

It took some time to kick in, which is expected, but I did notice results which is a good sign that not every test booster can say. As always, I’d still advise you to consult with your doctor on if it’s the right choice for you personally.

The cons list is small but must be mentioned. First, as I stated in the ingredients list, their proprietary Free Testosterone Complex seems like it’s too short and I felt that it wasn’t as comprehensive as I’d like it to be.

Secondly, it’s not the cheapest of the test booster supplements I’ve tried, but unfortunately that’s par for the course when it comes to supplements of this nature.

That being said, I wouldn’t feel bad recommending this to anyone that needed some improvement in their daily life whether it’s stamina, libido, energy, mood, or workout performance.
